Download and install your theme – lc02

A. Download the latest version of your theme. A zip file will be downloaded. Please be aware that this zip file is NOT the child-theme file your should install.
B. Unzip your download file. A folder will be created. Inside this folder you will see several folders/files, among which a file called child-theme_nicepuccino-onepage_1.2.zip.
C. In the WordPress Admin, go to Appearance > Themes and click on Add New then Upload New.
D. You will be taken to the Add Themes page. Click on Add Themes then click on Choose file. Locate child-theme_nicepuccino-onepage_1.2.zip, select it and click Open, then click on Install Now.
E. Once the file is uploaded, click on Activate and Voilà! Your child-theme is activated.
F. IMPORTANT: Upon activation you will be prompted to install 2 plugins: please refer to the next section to install the plugins.

Install and activate the plugins – lc02

Upon activation of your child-theme, you will be prompted to install 2 plugins:

  • Layouts Cafe Demo Installer: install this if you want to setup your site just like the demo.
  • Easy themes and Plugins Upgrades: this plugin will make it a breeze to update your child-theme when a new version comes out.

Click on the “Begin installing plugins” notice, and follow the instructions on screen. Once the plugins are installed, do not forget to activate.

Read on as there are a few more steps to complete the initial setup.

Import theme options – lc02

Please be aware that importing the options file will erase your current options setup.

A. In the WordPress Admin go to Divi > Theme Options, and click on the Portability Options icon at the top right corner.

B. Click on the Import tab, then click on Choose file. In the window that opens, locate the theme options file in the your downloaded package, by going to Import > 01. Theme Options, select the file and click Open. Next, click on Import Divi Theme Options and wait for the import to complete. This might take some time, depending on your webhost.

C. Click on Save.

And … Voilà!

Import Customizer Settings – lc02

Please be aware that importing the customizer settings file will erase your current settings.

A. In the WordPress Admin go to Divi > Theme Customizer, and then click on the Portability Options icon at the top left corner.

B. Click on the Import tab, then click on Choose file. In the window that opens, locate the theme customizer settings file in the your downloaded package, by going to Import > 02.Customizer Settings, select the file and click Open. Next, click on Import Divi Customizer Settings and wait for the import to complete. This might take some time, depending on your webhost.

C. Click on Save.

And … Voilà!

Install demo – lc02

A. Make sure you have our Easy Installer installed and Activated. If this is is not the case, you can install it manually by going to Plugins > Add new > Upload Plugin and installing the Easy Installer plugin that you will find in your download package (easy_installer.zip).

B. In the WordPress Admin, go to Appearance > Installer Panel, and click on Run Installer to set up your site as the demo.

C. A message will notify you of the demo install success.

D. You can now visit your website. As you will notice : the same picture is shown everywhere unlike the demo. This is done on purpose in order to speed up the deployment process. If you wish to display the pictures just as in the demo, read on.

E. To display the pictures just like in the demo, in the WordPress Admin:

  • go to Divi Library > Divi, then click on Import & Export button in the upper left corner of the page.
  • once there click on the Import tab, then click on Choose file. In the window that opens, locate the layout import file in the your downloaded package, by going to Import > 03. Layouts, select the file named “ALL – NicePuccino OnePage 1.2.json” and click Open. Next, click on Import Divi Builder Layout and wait for the import to complete. This might take some time, depending on your webhost.

    For your info:
    in the folder named 03. Layouts you will find 4 files :

    1. ALL – NicePuccino OnePage 1.2.json : this file will import the homepage layout as well as all sections layouts in the Divi Library. The homepage and the sections layouts can then be loaded from the “Load from library”  option in the Divi Builder.
    2. Home (library level import) – NicePuccino OnePage 1.2.json : this file will import the homepage layout (only) in the Divi Library. The homepage layout can then be loaded from the “Load from library”  option in the Divi Builder.
    3. Home (page level import) – NicePuccino OnePage 1.2.json : this file will import the homepage layout when you are inside a page and click the import/export icon in the Divi Builder (icon with 1 arrow facing up and 1 arrow facing down).
    4. Sections – NicePuccino OnePage 1.2.json : this file will import all sections layouts in the Divi Library. The sections can then be loaded from the “Load from library”  option in the Divi Builder.
  • next, go to Pages > Home, and click on the “Load from library”  option in the Divi Builder.
  • next, click on the Add from Library tab and select the desired layout, in our case it’s “Home (library level import) – NicePuccino OnePage 1.2

F. Now go back to the front-end version of your site. You will notice some issues with the navigation header. Please proceed to the next section Troubleshooting to fix these.

Troubleshooting – lc02

Once you’ve completed all the steps here above, if you are experiencing issues, please read on:

Top navigation displays vertical white space

After completing all the steps, you might experience some issues with the top navigation displaying white vertical white space.

To fix it:

  • in the WordPress Admin, go to Divi > Theme Customizer > Header & Navigation > Header Format
  • tick the box next to Enable Vertical Navigation
  • click Save and Publish
  • next untick that same box
  • click Save and Publish again

Top navigation is not fullwidth

After completing all the steps, you might experience some issues with the top navigation not displaying full width.

To fix it:

  • in the WordPress Admin, go to Divi > Theme Customizer > Header & Navigation > Primary Menu Bar
  • untick the box next to Make Full Width
  • click Save and Publish
  • next tick that same box
  • click Save and Publish again

Top Navigation Icons

In order to display the social icons in the top navigation:

  • get your free embed code from Font-Awesome website (external link)
  • then in WordPress Admin, go to Divi > Theme Options > Integrations (tab) >  and paste your embed code code in the box that says Add code to the < head > of your blog
  • click save

 

Top navigation search icon

After completing all the steps, you might experience some issues with the search top navigation being displayed, unlike the demo.

To fix it:

  • in the WordPress Admin, go to Divi > Theme Customizer > Header & Navigation > Header Elements
  • tick the box next to Show Search Icon
  • click Save and Publish
  • next untick that same box
  • click Save and Publish again

Customize NicePuccino One Page – lc02

Check the video above to do the following:

  • edit the colors to match your brand
  • change the pictures
  • change the social icons color in the navigation header
  • change the social icons to other social networks like LindedIn, Instagram and Pinterest

Updating NicePuccino One Page

A. Make sure you have installed and activated the plugin “Easy Themes and Plugins Upgrades”.

B. In the WordPress Admin, go to Appearance > Themes and click on Add New

C. You will be taken to the Add Themes page. Click on Add Themes then Upload New

D. In the dropdown that says “Upgrade existing theme?” that appears under Choose file, select Yes.

E. Click on Choose file, then locate the latest Divi-child.zip from the update package you’ve downloaded, select it, click Open, then click on Install Now.

F. Once the file is uploaded, click on Activate and Voilà! Your child-theme is updated.
